Proud Big Brothers
The boys seem to love Harley a lot. They do love to hold her. Brendan sometimes even wants to squeeze her to death. I do have to watch him with her. He does not like to listen to the word STOP or GENTLE. He doesn't really care. The green monster is visiting Brendan these days.

And then there was FIVE!
So I had planned to work until the end of January and my plan was to have her on February 1st. All month I had felt as though she would be early. Well, when Dr. Workman called the hospital to schedule our c-section they had January 25th open at 9am. I have to admit I was very happy to be having her sooner rather then later. I did not really enjoy this pregnancy the way I had with the other two. It was very uncomfortable this time around.
On January 25th we were set. Brendan had stayed the night with my friend and his teacher Linda. Chase stayed with us and then went next door to be taken to school and we were headed off to the hospital. We got there around 7:30am and had to go through all the prep work. Oh that was a lot of fun... After we were ready then we had to wait and wait and wait. We were scheduled for 9am, but did not get in there for at least another hour.

Baby Room Completed
Okay so I hated that this house feels so dirty. It does not matter how many times I clean it, it still feels that way. We at least have one beautiful clean room in this house. I think it turned out great. Look for yourselves....
Doesn't it look amazing....fresh....clean... LOVE IT!!!

January...
Well after Christmas we had a lot to prepare for. Our third addition was coming this month and we had to finish getting ready for her. This month we had a couple baby showers. Well first back in November my wonderful Esl classes gave me a surprise baby shower. It was the sweetest thing. They spoiled me and started us out into the world of pink. In January our Sunday school class gave us a diaper shower. Then my wonderful friends gave me another baby shower. I was over whelmed with little girl clothes and all the love they have shown. Everyone was so excited and could not wait to see her. My friend Linda had to come over and help me put the rest of the clothes all away, because I could not stand looking at all the clothes. Isn't that terrible!
But first we had to get her room together. I think it turned out great. All of us helped in painting and Nathan did an awesome job on the floor.

Playing Catch Up!
Hi Everyone! Boy do I have a lot to catch up on. It has been a long time since I have written on the Strickland Beat. I am going to have to go back to Christmas I guess......
Let's see... Christmas was a small one this past year. We decided that we were going to do one large family gift this year and only get a couple items each for the kids. I think it turned out pretty good. The boys both received one item, plus stocking items from Santa. They recieved tons of things from family. And Jesus sent us a Wii for the whole family. Yes, Brendan is still young and has a hard time understanding how to play, but he will enjoy it sooner or later. Chase on the other hand cannot stop playing. We have to monitor his playing or else he will never do anything else.

Happy Halloween 2010
Well, Halloween weekend is over and I can truely say that I am pooped. The amount of walking was terrible.
Saturday we took the boys to Burton's annual Fall Festival. It was fun for them. Chase got to see a bunch of his friends from school. Got to visit with some neighbors and enjoy good food. I liked playing 25cent bingo and winning three times. Chase dressed up as Mario from the Mario Brothers and Brendan was a Fire Fighter.
The next day we went to church and the boys could not stop asking when we were going to go trick or treating. Nathan made the boys take a nap. Chase just laid on the floor in Brendan's room and never fell asleep. About 5pm we headed out to the Washington County Fairgrounds where we had another Fall Festival to go to. This one was put on by several churches in the community and other organizations. I think they had a pretty good turn out. We did not stary very long because it got crowded. Sorry Butch I did not see Independence there this year unless they were hiding in a different spot. Kind of sad. After we left there went to go knock on doors. We go to a neighborhood in Brenham where we have several friends that live. I was telling Nathan that I thought there were more houses built over this past year because it was such a long walk around there. They both had big pumpkin buckets and they were both filled to the rim. We did not even go to all the houses. We were so tired that we called it quits. They were happy they had full buckets of junk food. This night Chase was still Mario, but Brendan went as Flash the superhero. The best part is we only had to buy Chase's costume this year. The Fire Fighter outfit was Chase's from when he was younger and the other costume Brendan found in a bag of clothes handed down to us by friends. Yeah! Saving money is great.

Blurry because of action. The first four pics are from Saturday.
Chase and Brendan waiting for their cars to race down the track.
This was the race track. Chase and the kids of Burton Elementary get to race cars on this when the get S's on their report cards.
Brendan waiting. He actually won one race and he won another car.

This is just one of the games they had at the fall festival in Brenham.

Getting ready to go trick or treating.
The mustache did not stay on long.
Our Cruise of Alaska....
Okay, so like I was telling you in the last edition we got to experience another trip while in Alaska. While the little ones were hanging out with Pammy and Memaw at the zoo, Butch and Pam sent all the older kiddos on a little cruise. It was so beautiful. We started out early and drove into Anchorage to catch a train to Whittier. On our drive we actually got to see three moose on the road. I was so excited about that. The whole time we had been there we had never seen them out and about in the wild. The train ride was very cool because it was about two hours long and it was slow enough for us to see a lot of wild life and the beauty of Alaska. Once we reached Whittier we caught our ship. This was the first time I had ever been on a boat this size that I could remember. We got to enjoy a good meal and amazing sights on our trip. We got to see eagles, seals, we almost got to see a whale, but it had other plans. The glaciers and waterfalls were breath taking. I think we all had the best time and to be able to do it as a family was even better. By the way did I mention that it was summer time and we were freezing. I bet that would make some of you a bit jealous when you were sitting in 100 degree weather. I have to take a second and say......HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Okay that is better and out of my system, wait.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Better.
Chase had such a great time and he was so proud of the pocket watch he got from the train station that he had me taking tons of pictures of him with it. He also got to see starfish, halibut, plankton, shrimp and I think something else under the microscope that the crew scooped up for everyone to see. Thank you Poppy and Pammy for the amazing trip you sent us all on. Here are some pictures of our trip...

Jealous aren't you?? I know I was this is not our ship.
Wet and cold, but loved every minute.
Carrie and Chase were I think first in line to check out the microscope.
Look at all the ice we got to sail through. There were even bigger pieces.

Chase again with watch
Again....
Do you think he was proud of the watch?
The crew member in the backgroud waved Chase up onto the captins deck. Chase and I were the only ones aloud up there. It was pretty cool.
Really windy too..
